The Dad I Want to Be

I want to be the dad that is always his kids' biggest supporter.

I want to be encouraging, and I want to help them push themselves to be the best they can be.

I also want to be the kind of dad that is okay with his boys just having fun in moment without thinking about future possibilities.

I want to be the dad that helps his kids discover their passions and gives them the opportunity to explore those passions...even if it isn't a passion of mine.

I want to be the dad that knows when to help his kid overcome his nerves but also knows that sometimes anxiety is sign that this isn't something his kid actually wants to do.

I want to be the dad that shows the value of physicality and gaining skills through training and disclipine.

I want to be the dad the teaches that it's better to know how to get up than to avoid getting knocked down, and that mistakes are opportunities for growth.

I want to be all these things and so much more, but right now I'm just the dad on the side of the sports field hoping his little boy doesn't get too hurt and has a great time while playing his first rugby match.
